Lighting of billboards is an optional expense. Each sign has its own meter and timer. The companies charge $50 per month, per sign for electricity, bulbs, timer, and maintenance. We have been told illumination of a sign will increase its being viewed by approximately 30%. We are praying that we can illuminate every sign all night, when many billboards are turned off, to attract the attention of prodigals on the prowl.
